With master sponsorship from Petrobras, through the Petrobras Cultural programme, and presented by the Ministry of Culture, through the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives — the Rouanet Law, Festival Quebramar opens up space for those who want to take part in building its 8th edition. Registration for the Collaborative Coverage is open until October 5.

The selection is an invitation to an experience that brings together communicators, students and people interested in communication, culture and production to follow the festival from the inside and help tell its stories.

The proposal goes far beyond documenting the shows. Those who join the team will be able to follow different moments of Quebramar, from the backstage and production processes to performances, debates, workshops, exhibitions and encounters between artists, producers and audiences. Texts, interviews, photographs, videos and social media content are among the possible ways to take part.

The coverage follows the festival from its very first steps. The programme has already begun with Preamar – Quebramar na Escola, on September 2, a stage of the 2026 edition that takes cultural activities to schools in Macapá, Santana, Mazagão and Oiapoque. Then, on September 26, comes Maré Lançante, with the launch of the Festival Quebramar website, the announcement of the line-up and the Esquenta Batalha de MCs.

The big gathering takes place from October 27 to November 1, when Festival Quebramar takes over Macapá with its multicultural programme. For the coverage team, it will be an opportunity to follow up close the artists, languages, territories and stories that run through the programme and help build the festival’s identity.

The experience is not new. The Collaborative Coverage has been part of previous editions of Quebramar and returns in 2026 as a space for exchange, learning and experimentation. The idea is to bring together different perspectives and skills, so that those who are just starting out can also learn in practice from those already working in communication and cultural production.

“Collaborative coverage is one of the ways to make sure the festival is told by different voices. It is an experience of exchange, in which people not only record what is happening but also live the backstage, try out languages and help build Quebramar’s memory.”

Heluana Quintas, production coordinator of the festival
