The tide is rising. With master sponsorship from Petrobras, through the Rouanet Law and carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Quebramar Festival 2026 entered a new phase on Saturday (26th) with the Rising Tide event. The night showcased the lineup for the 8th edition and brought together an MC battle, rap, urban culture and artists from different territories across the Amazon.
Led by Quebramar's divas, Rapper Prisca and Brenda Adnerb, the programming also marked the launch of the official teaser for Quebramar Festival 2026 and the new official website, which brings together information about artists, activities, programming and news from the edition.
Following the High Tide, which began in September with Quebramar in School, Rising Tide served as a warm-up for the six days of festival, from October 27 to November 1st. The programming will feature artists from Amapá, other Brazilian states, French Guiana and Suriname. This edition's theme, “Integrating the Guianas”, highlights territories that share borders, histories, cultures and music.
For Heluana Quintas, Festival Quebramar's production coordinator, Rising Tide was an important moment for preparation and connecting with the public.
”Rising Tide is this moment to present what we're building and bring the public closer to the festival's energy. Quebramar reaches its 8th edition with the challenge and joy of integrating different territories, scenes and languages. We're preparing diverse, free programming that's connected to Amazonian reality, valuing artists from Amapá and promoting encounters with other regions and the Guianas,” says Heluana Quintas.
MC on the mic, rhymes on the tip of the tongue
One of the most intense moments of the night was the Batalha da Arte (Art Battle), which hosted one of the state qualifying rounds for MCs competing in the Duelo de MCs, which takes place in Minas Gerais later this year.
Sixteen MCs competed for the spot in the classic battle format, with improvisation, quick responses, attacks, counter-attacks and the pressure of fitting the rhyme to the beat.
Smile MC came out on top, securing his spot and joining the other 12 already-selected MCs. In total, there are 13 names already confirmed for the state finals, whose date will be announced but will happen this year.
For Psy, cultural producer and coordinator of the Batalha da Arte, holding a qualifying round of this magnitude at Quebramar helps insert Amapá hip-hop production into the national circuit.
”The Batalha da Arte has precisely this goal of bringing together different people, from various styles, ages and territories, and strengthening hip-hop culture here. Holding a qualifier within Quebramar is very important because we're talking about a festival that has national relevance and is returning now with a proposal to connect with other territories. It's an opportunity for MCs to show their power and for the Amapá scene to occupy this space,” Psy highlights.
The night also featured CRGV and Máfia Nortista, two important names in Amapá rap history, in addition to Pretogonista and DJ Isa do Phelp.
From Cremation to Quebramar
If the battle placed rhymes at the center of attention, the arrival of Pelé do Manifesto and Budokaos, from Belém (PA), took Rising Tide in another direction.
The artists presented the weight of Pará rap and launched “A Grande Obra” (The Great Work), an album inspired by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy.
In the hands of artist Pelé do Manifesto, the classic work gains a new reading, crossed by the experiences of the periphery, by poetry and hip-hop language. A rapper, actor, poet, presenter and one of the highlights of Pará rap, the artist has over a decade of career and now, with six albums released.
”A Grande Obra is a very special work because it's inspired by the Divine Comedy, and brings the power of the work to our reality, to our lived experiences, to the periphery, to our way of telling stories. It's an album that speaks of paths, conflicts, choices, falls and triumphs, but from our perspective. Being able to launch this work at Quebramar, at a festival that's proposing this integration between territories, was very symbolic for us,” says Pelé do Manifesto.
The encounter with Pretogonista reinforced one of Rising Tide's characteristics: bringing together artists from different generations and scenes from the North region.
What's coming next?
The main announcement of the night was the lineup for the 8th edition of Quebramar Festival. The programming spans six days and brings together names from different points on the Brazilian musical map and the Guianas region.
Among the highlights are rapper Ebony (RJ), Black Pantera (MG), Jonathan Ferr (RJ), MC Taya (RJ), Gang do Eletro (PA), Suraras do Tapajós (PA), Orquestra Indígena (MS) and the artists from French Guiana and Suriname Loriane (GF) and Souyjengé (SUR).
The Amazonian and Amapá scene also gains space with Afrocriaú, Desolation, Stereovitrola, Matinta Perera, Luxuosos Corações, Mano Roots, Anthony Barbosa and Prisca, among others.

The programming spans rap, electronic music, guitarrada, rock, indigenous music and different strands of independent production. The proposal is to transform Quebramar into a meeting point between scenes separated by geographic borders, but united by references, histories and sounds.
After the High Tide and Rising Tide, the next big wave arrives at the end of October. From October 27 to November 1st, Quebramar Festival takes over Macapá with six days of programming and the proposal to transform Amapá into a meeting point for the Guianas.
